ya’ll need to see this movie.  the animation is absolutely GORGEOUS!  it looks like a moving tapestry or even an illuminated page!  And the theme about the power of the pen, the power of books, is something tumblr will really appreciate. the story is beautifully touching and although there is an element of magic, there are some REALLY realistic themes as well.  and there’s so much gray area to this movie - it’s not all black and white. a really beautiful film that needs more recognition, especially on tumblr.

The movie is called The Secret of Kells. :3 I love the animation and style of the art! The end is mushy~ 

It’s a great movie. :)

THIS movie was fantastic! Beautifully “illustrated”— that’s right. Illustrated. With a little animation thrown in to make sense.
