Day 46: what makes you smile

All sorts of things.

Kittens and birds being cute. 

When a cat decides it wants to bless me with it’s presence in my lap. Especially when the cat is a complete sweetheart and soft as fuuuuck.

When I hear really good orchestral music that features cellos and violas.

Tyrion Lannister’s quips in Game of Thrones and other such snarkery.

When assholes and villains get what’s coming to them.

Waking up slowly after sleeping in on weekends, very cozy.

The smell of an old bookstore, especially this one downtown that has books piled to the ceiling in clever and interesting ways. Not even really sorted. It’s a treasure hunt.

Small gifts or surprises, even if it’s just someone bringing me a mug of tea or an unexpected tickle.

When my mom tries to swear without swearing (the outcomes are hilarious!)

My baby sister being incredibly clever.

My baby brother being goofy and weird in an admirable way.

My younger sister being amazingly silly with her game characters, and overly vengeful. (“You broke my last lockpick! Fuckin’ door! FUS! FUS! FUS RO! -hacks to testing level, takes unbreakable lockpick- YOU’RE GONNA TAKE IT AND LIKE IT!”)

The boyfriend wrapping his arm around me while we sleep and other silly things he does during the day. He’s the major offender when it comes to sudden tickles and unexpected goofness.

Terrible anime (and other awesome shows) with friends. The commentary’s the best, whether it’s “Dear god, WHYYY?” or “That’s a panty shot. Take a sip.” or “GotDAMM, lookit dem hips! Jesus, Starscream.”
